'Truxton' hazelnut is a Z's nutty farm selection. It grows to about 12 feet tall and 8 feet wide as a bush. This is a hybrid that owes part of its origination to a Faroka parent that was originally from Mr. Gellatly of British Columbia. This tree is a good grower with large nuts. It is good for zones 6a and warmer. Nut size depends on fertility, and can double in exceptional soils. In Ohio nut production is very low and produces many blanks.
